Gene Tree's Identification and Banking Services are conveniently
structured to allow for easy ordering and specimen collection.
DNA based methods for identification & banking are the most accurate and versatile
available. These methods are so useful that positive identification can be
obtained from sample sources such as: biological specimens (e.g., blood and
saliva), hairs (with roots intact), and licked stamps.
Once the specimens for the Identification and/or Banking are received by
GeneTree, the DNA Identification Card, called the FirstClue GeneCard, will be
available between 2 and 3 weeks. Here at GeneTree we have specialists available
to help answer any questions that you may have regarding the banking procedure.
The 14 CODIS-associated DNA Identification Systems that are used by GeneTree are
recognized by the FBI and other forensic laboratories around the world. DNA
profiles are maintained in a confidential database at GeneTree, and are
available if ever needed.
This method of banking identification provides greater than 99% positive identification
by incorporating several methods of identification such as a fingerprint,
picture and a DNA profile.
