The GeneTree Full Siblings Testing Kits are designed to determine if two or more individuals have the same biological parents. Provisions for testing a biological parent are included with this test at no additional charge and are totally optional.
Samples are collected from two alleged full siblings (a parent is optional) at home or at a collection center (a parent is optional, but strongly suggested). The samples are generally obtained using a cheek swab. However, DNA can also be extracted from hair, tissue, or fluids with cells in them, e.g. blood for additional fee using GeneTree DNA Special Specimen Collection testing kit. After samples are sent to the laboratory, results will be available within 3-6 weeks. The results are guaranteed to indicate either <15% or >90% probability if a parent is also tested. If a parent is not tested, we do not guarantee that results will fall into this conclusive range**, and results may vary between 1% and 99% accuracy.
